Foreword: For any newcomers, this is my monthly newsletter in which I will hopefully give an insight into my practice, projects and inspirations.
I can feel a cycle developing. Every other newsletter, I have nothing much to say and last month I said a lot, so I’m sorry in advance if this one is boring. I would love to say it’s because I have been super busy with projects but alas this month started with a shot of project launch anxiety, and was then chased by a pint of apathy.
I heard someone say that the best Dorito is the Dorito you haven’t yet eaten. I believe it’s also true of projects, at least for me. A project launch often feels like an exchange of my daily purpose for a pic n’ mix bag of negative feelings and a temporary addiction to the dopamine slot machine that is website analytics.
It’s worth it though, I know that and the only way you can better at dealing with any of this is just to do more. Keep on creating, keep on putting stuff out into the world and to take notice of the positive things that come from putting work out there.
With that being said, I can not speak more highly of puzzles. They are my go-to for helping deal with post-project launch purgatory, and they have yet to let me down.
On an unrelated note, I have a few open calls for designers for two very different things:
- I will be hosting a round table discussion for freelance designers on ‘Design, Ethics and Politics’ on the 30th of June at 7CET. If you would like to come, feel free to contact me, it would be great to hear your thoughts.
- Looking for a UI/UX designer for an upcoming Ventually project. If you have some free time and want to help make some weird stuff, get in touch.
That’s all from me, hope you’ve enjoyed and have a great month.
